tips
provide information
Make sure that all participants are informed in advance that photos and videos will be taken during the event and how they will be used. Indicate whether they will be used for promotional purposes, on social media, on the company website, or in other marketing materials.
Provide clear information about the GDPR policy regarding the collection and use of personal data.
obtain permission
Obtain prior consent from participants before taking photos or videos in which they are recognizable. This can be done by submitting a consent form at registration or by asking for verbal consent during the event.
respect privacy preferences
Respect the privacy preferences of participants. If someone does not want to be photographed or filmed, ensure that their wishes are respected and that they are not included in the image.
what is AVG?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is an EU regulation designed to protect the privacy of individuals and regulate the processing of personal data. This means that personal data, including photos and videos in which people are identifiable, must be protected according to strict guidelines.
To access the client gallery (concerns photography services only), a unique password is required, which is shared exclusively with your company. If desired, you may share the photos with event attendees, but not with anyone outside your organization. The gallery will be automatically taken offline after 1 month.

What does this mean for you as an organizer?
When you hire me as a photographer or videographer for your event, it is important to understand that you are responsible for GDPR compliance.
This means that you need to make sure that your event attendees are aware that photos and videos are being taken and how they will be used.
While posting photos and videos on your company website or in an event report may be acceptable, using individual portraits for promotional purposes requires careful consideration. It is always wise to obtain permission from the individuals involved before using their images, especially for promotional purposes.
